[Walter has recorded a video message from the point of view of someone who has just come through the door into his cabin and sees Walter at his desk in the chair turned around to face the viewer. He gives a little salute-wave.]

[Walter's pretty stunned by this, though it's not really easy to hear in the remaining moments on the feed. He says to himself:]

...Well, I knew he didn't want to hear it.

[Man, he doesn't know what to do with this. He wants to throw Malcolm's pathetic reaction to Annie's arrival in his face so bad, but it feels like Malcolm is getting too close to the truth of Walter's thoughts, and those get darker every day. Besides, he's also conveniently ignored the reminder that his then-inmate then-boyfriend didn't end up with his serial killer counterpart in Zero. Positive or negative, Malcolm always focuses on whatever he needs to hear.]

you're the one who said you have to be out and about protecting people, and though I pride myself on creativity I don't know what else that could have possibly meant. Whatever!

And I was offering to protect you, just then, which you said is what you wanted. To be safe. For me to demonstrate that I care about that. I don't know what else THAT could have possibly meant, but if you want to explain, I'd be glad to listen.

So do you lock down in your cabin during "external" floods outside of specifically scheduled trips or not?

I don't if I can help get others to safety or if I don't know where one of my people is and I need to find them. Otherwise I do.

I'm in my cabin right now.

So do I need to find you? Is it possible to get you to safety?

If you can give me network or other proof of a flood when you did that, I will pick up my own supplies on my short murky walk back, and my supervisors will have to just deal with it. Is that unchildish enough for you?

[There's no response for a few moments, then audio clips of a private conversation come through without commentary.]

[Walter puts his communicator in his pocket at this point. About thirty minutes later there's a blurry picture of a triple-sized tissue box.]

I don't understand what this picture means. Is that your supplies?

You know, yes. It doesn't exactly comprise the entirety of the supplies, but I thought it was nice and evocative.

yes, though I'll be pretty peeved if it turns out not to work or also be unnecessary. Good thing you'd never put me in that situation on purpose.

I wouldn't, so I hope that wasn't sarcasm.

Do you have your alarm?

[Walter considers getting into his misgivings about the alarm before deciding that any mention will lead to a more in depth discussion that'll distract from his supply trek.]
